The ‘Antiques’ collection has been carefully selected by Overmantels, as each piece is unique the current collection, showcases the skill and intuitive craftsmanship that went into the creation of these mirrors From the hand carved decorations to the gilding in real gold leaf, these Antiques – (mainly of French origin) are a joy to behold, with the warm tones of the original French boule showing through where the gold has worn, adding to the personality and quality of these mirrors.

 

Antique mirrors make a stylish, classic addition to any situation and when juxtaposed to contemporary pieces become a rich focal point to a room.

 

 

Overmantels was founded twenty one years ago. They pride themselves in the creation of hand-crafted mirrors, made in their own joinery and gilding workshops. They also design exceptional pieces such as gorgeous Eglomise mirrors (Verre Eglomise, from the French term meaning glass gilded. It is a process where the backside of glass is gilded in gold or silver leaf to create a mirror-like, reflective finish). They have an excellent team of craftsmen who make the frames. Along with knowledgeable staff in the showroom, they can create mirrors to suit all tastes and sizes, via their unique bespoke service. Overmantels, is recognised by conservationists for their authenticity and have supplied many important sites, including leading hotels and many other commercial and private houses.
