Overmantels History

Overmantels was founded by Seth Taylor over 25 years ago after many years experience dealing in antiques, especially mirrors. Our aim has been to create high quality hand crafted mirrors keeping old techniques alive but at the same time adapting traditional styles to suit modern living. Our range is constantly expanding and includes English, French and Contemporary designs.

Overmantels mirrors are recognised by conservationists for their authenticity. Our joiners make our frames from sustainable wood sources and our gilders still use 18th century recipes to decorate and gild the mirrors. We have supplied many important sites, including the Houses of Parliament, Downing Street, the Dorchester Hotel, Embassies and many clubs, hotels and restaurants and, of course, countless private houses in the UK and abroad.
